For my final dress, I decided to wear my high school prom dress again. When I was a senior at the Philadelphia High School for Girls, I won a prom contest and my entire prom experience was paid for – dress, shoes, hair, makeup, nails, transportation, prom tickets, photography package, and a send-off party. It was literally the best contest any girl could win for prom and I wanted to win because I knew my parents could not afford my prom expenses.

The contest is setup by a group of Girls’ High alumnae called the GHS Prom Project. I remember how nervous I was when they came to my school to announce the winners of the contest but one of my friends, Priscilla, kept telling me that I was definitely the first place winner. When they called my name, I was honestly in shock and was extremely happy. They even gave me a tiara!

Here are a few pictures from the day and a post from 6 Abc News:

For my 21st birthday shoot, I decided to wear the same dress because quite honestly, the dress was really expensive and I did not have any good pictures from my prom night – alone at least. So, I decided to re-create part of my prom experience and took pictures in the City of Brotherly Love. Please see below for links to the outfits and my team’s contact information for organizing the best photo shoot. Enjoy the lovely pictures!

Stay adventurous, dear friends, and always remember to stay golden. All ways, always.

Sincerely,

Samuella
